Jet2 Announces Biggest Ever Route Expansion
Low-fares airline Jet2 has announced the biggest single route expansion in its history.
Jet2 has announced eight new destinations from its base at Leeds Bradford international airport in its biggest ever single route expansion.
The carrier will now operate new services to Hamburg, Madrid, Jersey, La Rochelle, Avignon, Sardinia, Crete and Cyprus.
Seats are available to book now, with the majority of the routes' inaugural flights taking off in May 2008.
In addition to its new routes Jet2 revealed a new sponsorship deal with Leeds Rugby, which it hopes will raise the profile of Leeds in Europe.
Airline boss Philip Meeson said: "Today's announcements are very exciting and form part of our strategic plan to significantly raise the profile of Leeds on the European stage.
"As an airline, we're always delighted to announce new routes and today is no exception. We are now offering direct flights to 36 destinations across Europe from Leeds Bradford and we've got some fantastic new destinations on offer."
Jet2 has a target of flying 3.5 million customers from its Leeds base by 2010 one million more than its current annual passenger figures.
