Ryanair claims passenger victory
Low-cost carrier Ryanair has bated its rivals by claiming that recent figures show that it is the most popular airline in the world.
The research cited by the airline indicated that Ryanair carried 4.25 million passengers in June, while British Airways managed just over three million.
Furthermore, the airline showed that it flew 18 per cent more passengers in the month, wile BA lost 2.5 per cent of its customers.
"Once again consumers have confirmed resoundingly that Ryanair is the world's favourite airline," explained Peter Sherrard.
"Last month huge passenger demand for Ryanair's guaranteed lowest fares and best customer service delivered 18 per cent growth. Meanwhile British Airways shrank in size as consumers abandoned its high fares and multiple fuel surcharges.
"When it comes to delivering what passengers want - the lowest fares and on-time flights - Ryanair beats BA time and time again."
However, a separate survey recently showed that BA and Virgin customers were most satisfied with the service they received on their flights.
