Ryanair extends guarantee
Low-cost carrier Ryanair has extended its lowest price guarantee across all its routes until the end of September.
The airline said that it would ensure that its prices would remain the lowest available on all of its 460 routes around Europe until September 30th.
At the same time, the airline called on its rival, easyJet to scrap its own price guarantee. Ryanair said that exclusions made easyJet's promotion "worthless".
Ryanair's head of communications, Peter Sherrard, commented: "Ryanair's fares won't be beaten, not now, not ever. That is why we are extending our lowest price guarantee until September 30th.
"Easyjet's so called guarantee isn't worth the paper it is written on because it deliberately avoids comparison with Ryanair on 274 of its 280 routes.
"With two million seats on sale for £10 (taxes and charges included) for travel in July and August, passengers won't find cheaper anywhere else. That's guaranteed."
Ryanair is currently locked in an argument with the EU Commission over its proposed takeover of Aer Lingus. The airline revealed that it was seeking to overturn the Commission's decision to block the merger in the courts.
