How Much Money do you Need for a Day in Cala d'Or?

Cala d'Or is a relaxed resort in the south east of Majorca, and a firm favourite for families and couples. It is one of the most picturesque areas of the island due to its cove beaches and stunning marina. Like many of the resorts in Majorca it was once a small fishing village but has evolved into a popular tourist destination with heaps of restaurants, bars and shops. At Holiday Extras we are here to help – so we have worked out how much money you need each day. Also check out our airport transfers for a reliable shuttle service to get you from A to B.

There are a large variety of restaurants in Cala d'Or offering cuisine from all over the world. For an authentic experience, head to Restaurant La Bodega where you can try your tapas favourites. For a fine dining experience head to Port Petit on the waterfront. And for a more budget-friendly dining experience, try Tentol. This restaurant is known for serving one of the best value breakfasts on the whole island. Depending on where you choose to dine, a three-course meal for two should cost between €35 and €60. Sights and attractions

You can hire a car and explore some local historic sights at the east of the island. For instance, the nearby Santueri Castle which dates back to Roman times and lies on the top of a large hill. There, you can experience breath-taking views of the east coast, and better still, entry is only €4. Or, you could go to Cuevas del Drach where you can experience beautiful caves from a boat ride and enjoy a live classical music concert. If you book online, the adult fare is €15 and the child fare is €8.

Beaches

If you are on a budget, why not head to one of the serene soft sand beaches and enjoy basking in the sun. All of the beaches are quite small and great for sunbathing and swimming, but watch out because the sheltered coves really trap the sun so be sure to keep reapplying sun cream. Cala Gran and Cala Llonga are the biggest beaches and offer fun activities like windsurfing, sailing and scuba-diving.

Whatever your budget there is plenty to do in Cala d'Or to keep the whole family entertained. Around €60 a day should be plenty, what with the diverse range of eateries and free activities. Remember to pre-book ourCala d'Or airport transfersfor a stress-free start to your holiday.
