Holiday Activities For Over 50s in Tenerife

Sunny Costa Adeje has something to offer tourists of all ages. Whether you're tempted by a hike around Spain's highest mountain peak or simply relaxing on one of the many beaches, the southern coast of Tenerife is as beautiful as it is versatile. Before you set off you should book our airport transfers. We provide a quick, low-cost shuttle service that will get you to your destination in no time at all.

Relax on the beach

There are plenty of beaches to choose from in Costa Adeje. Playa del Duque is one of the most popular choices and in the midst of a rocky cove. Enjoy scenic views of the cove and crystal blue waters from the path leading down to the golden sands. Or, you can head further down the coast to the charming town of El Puertitio, an old fishing village that is a nice contrast to the busy tourist spots. Locals enjoy its main beach, Playa del Puertito. The coastal town of Fanabe is five kilometres from the centre of Adeje, and its central plaza surrounded by tea rooms radiates a British ambience. You can gaze at the many glamorous, exclusive resorts built along the sea front.

Fixate on some breath-taking sights

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a photographer, head to Barranco del Infierno (Hell's Canyon). The three-hour hike isn't too challenging and you can enjoy incredible views along with way. But get there nice and early, or better still book, as only 300 people are allowed to trek the area per day. If you're lucky, you might even spot an eagle. Or, enjoy spectacular views of the Canary Islands' largest national park from a cable car, where you can view Spain's highest peak, Mount Teide, without breaking a sweat. Same as before, pre-book to avoid queues and to ensure you can get in. Make sure you remember your coat because temperatures will dip at the top.

Taste some local seafood

Take a leisurely stroll up the coast from Playa del Duque and you'll reach La Caleta, a quiet fishing village. You can enjoy ocean views from a terrace and indulge in some fresh seafood at La Masia del Mar.

As you can see, there are plenty of activities that over 50's can enjoy. To make sure your holiday kicks off to a great start, remember to book our Costa Adeje airport transfers.
