Costa Adeje Weather

The Canary Islands as a whole are typically very warm. Even from December to February, temperatures regularly reach as high as 20°C. Tenerife and Gran Canaria tend to be the warmest of the seven main islands – but what about Costa Adeje, in particular? Before we look at the weather in this part of the island, please check out our airport transfers.

A welcome warmth

If you're looking for guaranteed sunshine on your holiday, Tenerife is unlikely to let you down. The island at large experiences warm temperatures all year round, with visitors to Costa Adeje especially apt to encounter balmy days and nights.

Hot spots

Unsurprisingly, July through to September is usually the hottest period in Tenerife, with typical highs of around 29°C. Even the average lows of 20°C during this timeframe are not to be sniffed at. As mentioned at the top of this article, temperatures at any time of the year are rarely anything but pleasant. The lows of December, January and February, for example, average out at approximately 14°C.

Sunny safeguards

Whatever time of year you choose to come to Costa Adeje, be sure to bring enough sunscreen, especially if you intend to return home with a nice suntan. We'd advise that you pack loose-fitting, light-coloured clothes, a hat and sunglasses, too. And always drink lots of water – it's the surest way to remain hydrated and help counter the unwanted ill-effects of exposure to the sun.

Risk of rain?

Yes, it does rain in Tenerife but when it does, it's not usually for long. And it tends to rain more in the island's northern parts than it does in Costa Adeje. June, July and August are typically the most rain-free months of the year, with May and September usually pretty clear of precipitation, too.

Sea temperatures

As Tenerife is situated in the North Atlantic, the temperature of the sea isn't as high as that of many Mediterranean resorts. However, it is certainly warm enough during the summer months. Really, water temperatures vary little from season to season, and many will find that this part of the Atlantic Ocean is pleasant enough at any time of the year.
