On arrival in Dalaman - collecting your hire car
When your plane touches down in Turkey and you come to collect your rental car, if you're picking it up from Dalaman Airport (DLM), you'll need to head to the car hire provider's desk in the Arrivals hall. If you're collecting it from one of our other pick up points in your resort, then your confirmation will detail the location of the company's office. On arrival, a member of the team will greet you go over the details of the car rental agreement. There will be some paperwork to complete out ahead of the keys being handed over for the vehicle. They will also take a moment to remind you of the fuel policy for the car, as well as if there is any mileage limit.
Please ensure you have the following with you when you pick up your hire car:
- Printed email confirmation for each of your journeys
- A full driving licence
- Credit card in the lead driver's name, with the full deposit amount available
- A valid DVLA code
- A valid passport
On your return
When your trip comes to end and it's time to head home, full details of where you need to drop your rental car off in Dalaman will be listed on your booking confirmation. When you drop the hire car off, it will be given a check over by a member of the rental team before you head off.
Exploring Dalaman
The Amyntas Rock Tombs are a popular destination. They're enormous carvings dating back to 400BC and are just a 50-minute drive away from Dalaman. The village of Kayaköy, an hour away from Dalaman, is also on many people's bucket lists. It's been abandoned since the 1920s and makes for a fascinating daytrip.
The Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz isn't far from Kayaköy. Visitors love to swim, snorkel and relax at this beautiful location, so be sure to bring your goggles. You'll also need swimwear if you're going to Sultaniye, a spa resort with famous mud baths that are thought to have healing properties. Finally, make the trip to Marmaris if you want to let your hair down at the end of a long day. Its famous Bar Street hosts a bars and clubs to suit every taste.
