4 easy steps to cheap car hire in Morocco
Morocco car rental locations
As a increasingly popular tourist destination, there are numerous daily flights to Morocco from UK airports. Whichever destination airport you are flying to, there will be a collection point within easy distance. We offer over 20 different pick up points around the country to make hiring a car in Morocco a hassle-free process.
All major locations are served, including airports, train stations, ports and town and city centres.
Airport car rentals
One of the easiest options is to pick up your hire car from the airport when you arrive in Morocco. We offer collection points at all the major airports within the country, as well as some of the less well-known ones too.
As with other international airports, many of the airports in Morocco have their car rental desks based in the arrivals terminal. At some of the more regional airports, you may need to take a shuttle bus. Before you make your booking, you should be able to see on the comparison screen whether your selected airport has car hire desks in the terminal or off-site.

Driving in Morocco**
Don't be put off driving in Morocco with tales that Moroccan roads are a nightmare. In reality, roads are not too different from driving in France and have greatly improved in recent years. We've put together the following information on what you need to know before you take to the road.
Road safety laws
Speed limits
Road Etiquette
Drivers tend to honk their horns an awful lot more than in the UK - in fact it becomes a normal driving activity, particularly in built up areas! Locals also don't tend to give way to pedestrians and will even park on crossings. You should also take care at roundabouts, as they are often navigated on a first come, first served basis.
Drinking and driving
It is against the law to drink and drive in Morocco. Driving under the influence of any alcohol is illegal and you could risk a fine if you are caught. Random breath tests are commonplace, therefore the best advice is to avoid alcohol completely.
It is important to note that drinking alcohol and then driving may invalidate your car rental insurance, irrespective of local drink driving laws. Check your policy for full details.
Radar detectors/SatNavs
SatNavs aren't illegal in Morocco. However, given that some roads outside of urban areas are as good as those you would find in the UK, it is recommended to stick to the speed limits at all times. Anyone caught speeding will be subject to an on the spot fine.
On-the-spot fines
If you are stopped by the police for a minor motoring offence, you will be liable for an on the spot fine. You will be given a ticket indicating the amount to be paid and how to pay it.

Fuel advice
Petrol is widely available and the variant that most cars use is known as super. Unleaded fuel - sans plomb is also widely available.
tends to be cheaper. Most service stations provide full service and will fill your car for you. However, most do not take credit cards, so it is best to pay in cash.
**This information should be considered as a broad overview of things to remember when hiring a car. It is therefore very important that you read the rental terms and conditions and associated policies for your own specific policy as well as doing your own research into the motoring laws of the country in which you will be driving.
