Driving in Greece**
Don't be put off by any tales you may have heard about local driving etiquette and the state of the roads. Whilst there are a few local laws that you may find useful when driving in Corfu, the roads aren't as bad as folklore would have it. We've put together the following tips and info about driving in Corfu. Please remember, this is a rough guide only and should be used in conjunction with the terms and conditions stipulated by your car hire company, as well as your own research about driving laws in Greece.

Drinking and driving
It is prohibited to drive if the levels of alcohol in the blood or breath are above the admissible limit. The admissible limit in the blood is 0.25mg per litre of breath. If the amount of alcohol in your blood exceeds 0.05% or more, then this is deemed a criminal offence and and you will be subject to severe penalties.
It is important to note that drinking alcohol and then driving may invalidate your car rental insurance, irrespective of local drink driving laws. Check your policy for full details.
A UK driving licence will allow you to drive in Greece, and you will not need an IDP - International Driving Permit.
Passport - You may also be required to carry another form of personal ID with you while driving.

Mobile phone use
