New roles created to support continued business growth
Technology skills in great demand
Holiday Extras, the market leader in UK airport hotels and parking, has announced a huge recruitment drive in 2008 which could mean up to 75 new people for the company's offices near Hythe. The majority of these new jobs will be created by the company's continued expansion and will include opportunities in the web team, new business, sales and commercial departments.
Callum Husein, group head of the Holiday Extras people team, said: "Our business is growing fast and we have won numerous trade and consumer awards for best website and best holiday add-ons, and Best Company to Work For. We are particularly looking for those with web-based technology skills to join us and keep fuelling our success." The company is currently turning over £200 million, 75% of which comes through websites like www.holidayextras.com.
In addition to approximately 60 roles in newly-created positions, Holiday Extras will also be looking for more people to help man its contact centre. Callum confirms: "There are job openings for all types of people, from students, mums returning to work, highly skilled programmers and systems developers. We are 'An Investor in People' and offer our team a great working environment, first class training, real career progression and a very competitive financial package that includes profit share."
Holiday Extras celebrates its 25th anniversary in April 2008 and its founder Gerry Pack believes that continued innovation has been the key to success. 2008 will see the introduction of several new products and services and will ensure that the firm continues to be a dynamic, fun and exciting place to work.
Holiday Extras has been listed as one of The Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For three years running - only one other Kent company has won this award. Holiday Extras is aiming for 'champion status' in Investors in People this year. The company recognises and rewards its people and is committed to creating a fun work culture with plenty of social activities. Social activities take place monthly throughout the year and in 2008 will include a special staff party to celebrate the 25th anniversary, an 'I'm a Celebrity' competition, charity week, barbeques and sports activities such as the Superheroes Bike Ride.
