Ryanair offers 70 new routes

October, 2007

Low-cost carrier Ryanair has announced that it will launch 70 new routes across Europe in October.

The airline claims that this "October revolution" will "send high fares all over Europe tumbling to the ground".

Among the additions are new routes from Barcelona, Dublin, Madrid, Pisa and Stockholm.

Services will also be launched from Dusseldorf, Nottingham East Midlands and Liverpool, while two new bases will be opened in Belfast and Valencia.

Peter Sherrard, Ryanair's head of communications, said: "These 70 new routes will deliver Europe's lowest fares to over five million additional passengers next year and will provide a massive boost to tourism across Europe."

The airline has its main base at Stansted, where passengers enjoy access to a number of airport hotels and lounges.
