More winter sun from Scotland

Scottish airline flyglobespan has released further details about its winter sun schedule, giving passengers the chance to choose from even more destinations.

Newly announced routes include the first ever year-round link between Edinburgh and Madeira.

The airline also revealed that it would be increasing the frequency of services from both Glasgow and Edinburgh to popular destinations like Palma and Faro.

Furthermore, passengers will be able to fly to Nice from Edinburgh this winter. Previously this service was only available during the summer months.

"I am very pleased that we can grow our programme in this way from Scotland," said flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple. "And continue to offer Scots travellers low fare flights from their local airports.

"It is good to add new routes - and Madeira and Sharm el-Sheikh are marvellous holiday destinations - but I am equally delighted that we can continue to grow our existing programme.

"That shows our services are continuing to grow in popularity " and that the flyglobespan model is working."

Last week, the airline revealed that it would offer Scottish passengers services to Orlando and Sharm el-Sheikh as part of its winter programme.
