The small Scottish spa town of Moffat is preparing itself for what promises to be a record breaking Classic Car Rally next weekend (June 24th and 25th).
Started in 1998 by Scottish Rootes Enthusiasts, the event has grown over the decade and organisers expect classic car enthusiasts from up and down the country to travel to the town to join hundreds of other classic car owners at the rally.
The event is now the biggest classic car event in Scotland and thousands of people are expected to attend this year.
Many of the drivers are attracted by the chance to drive their pedigree vehicle along one of the most scenic drives in Britain, along the A708 from Moffat to Selkirk.
Recently Dunlop Tyres honoured the particular route that the car rally will take, saying that it "deserved national acclaim".
If the cars get too much, visitors can also enjoy the spectacular natural scenery that surrounds the south-western town.
The nearby Grey Mare's Tail waterfall and the strangely named Devil's Beef Tub are two natural wonders that tourists should not miss. The latter is a deep, dramatic hollow in the hills north of Moffat and is well loved by local walkers.
