Holiday Extras makes Times Top 100

The Sunday Times 100 BEST COMPANIES TO WORK FOR was published today with Holiday Extras achieving a respectable 23rd position.

Sandwiched between Lush and the National Childminding Association, Holiday Extras are thrilled to have received such a high position in a much larger category. Having been 23rd in last year's Best Small Businesses we are delighted to achieve 23rd in a much more competitive category. This year we were entered into the category for businesses with up to 5000 employees, and achieving 23rd position when compared with much larger companies is a real credit to our team. We are overjoyed with our achievement.

In order to achieve 23rd position, employees were asked to complete a questionnaire created by the Sunday Times. Our staff feedback was very positive and when the results were correlated the general feel of the company was as follows:

  • 86% stated Holiday Extras as a fun place to work
  • 80% felt they have the support of their manager
  • 82% felt secure in their job placing us in the top 10!

"This niche business is the brainchild of the company's entrepreneurial founder Gerry Pack, who established it in 1983 with the princely sum of £100. Today the Kent-based firm boasts pre-tax profits of £3.2m and operates from swish headquarters, set among acres of attractive greenery. Pack has handed over the running of the company to chief executive officer Steve Lawrence, who attributes the company's success to the combination of a good idea with good people." The Times journalist goes on to describe Holiday Extras as "committed to making sure people can relax and have a good time while taking that well-earned break". Holiday Extras would like to extend congratulations to W L Gore & Associates who came in first place.
