About Trademarks:
It's possible to register a name, logo, slogan, domain name, shape, colour or even a sound as a trademark. This protects any sign or symbol that allows customers differentiate between companies.
To be registered, a trade mark must be:
Not similar or identical to other marks for the same or similar goods and services Distinctive for the goods and services you apply for. Not deceptive, or contrary to law. Now that Holiday Extras is a registered trademark company, we benefit from several forms of protection.
A registered trademark:
Discourages people from using your trade mark without permission. Allows you to take legal action against anyone who uses your trade mark without your permission Means anyone who copies a trademark can be criminally charged by Trading Standards Officers or Police. Becomes your property. You can sell it, or let other people have a licence that allows them to use it. By: Abby Oleksik
