Local residents have revealed what they believe are the tourists attractions in Florida that tourists simply cannot afford to miss.
Readers of South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper were asked to nominate and vote for what they thought were the 'Seven Wonders of Florida'.
After three months of debate, the paper has now published the list of tourist attractions.
Topping the poll was the state's famous Everglades - a vast area of wetland which is host to a wide variety of animals, birds and flowers.
Other holiday hotspots in Florida included the Keys, the city of St Augustine and the state's natural springs.
However, the paper's readers did not forget some of Florida's man-made attractions. Both Kennedy Space Center and Walt Disney World made it into the list.
Recently, the Lonely Planet travel guide said that it thought that the best entertainment in Florida could be found in the state's quirkier attractions.
It explained: "The real treasures of Orlando's psyche are the sidekicks: Holy Land is peddling God; Gatorland bills itself as the 'alligator capital of the world'; and Skull Kingdom is endearingly low-tech."
