London Olympic Bid

The UK was rejoicing today as London beat Paris to win the honour of staging the 2012 Olympics.

The effort of thousands including Mayor Ken Livingstone, PM Tony Blair, Lord Sebastian Coe and David Beckham has finally paid off - The 2012 Olympics will be held in London, despite fierce competition from France and Prime Minister Jacques Chirac.

France had been favourites throughout the 18 month campaign, but were beaten by a resurgent London bid, making this the first time the Olympics will be held in Britain since 1948.

Supporters at Trafalgar Square erupted with emotion at the news of London's success. The party at the London landmark which was attended by legendary Olympians Kelly Holmes and Steve Cram was organised to celebrate the efforts of all who had backed the bid.

Preparation is the key as thousands of visitors will be looking for Airport Hotels and Airport Parking across the UK and around London for The Games in 2012. You can be sure that Holiday Extras will be offering their usual high-quality, low-price Hotel and Parking packages to all their customers during these games. Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, Stansted, and Luton Airports will all be under pressure to cope with the rush of International visitors.

The UK will be eagerly anticipating the Olympic Games, which will undoubtedly bring a nation together and provide an amazing opportunity to put on a warm welcome to the world.
