Airline Virgin Atlantic has come up with a range of tips to help passengers overcome the airport blues and enjoy a tip top summer holiday.
Virgin says that travellers can get the best deals by booking their seats online and then enjoy the benefits of being able to choose where they sit and make any special requests for meals.
The airline is also encouraging passengers to check in online, with the incentive of a £10 voucher to spend in duty free. Online check in can help travellers avoid queues at the airport too.
Another recommendation is twilight check in, a service available at Gatwick airport which enables passengers to check in themselves and their luggage the afternoon before their flight departs. This means they can relax before their flight and perhaps stay overnight in an airport hotel.
Overseas, Virgin Atlantic offers a check in facility at the Disney theme park in Florida so passengers can check in themselves and their bags on their departure day and then spend the last hours of their holiday enjoying the theme park. In the Caribbean, 'Check In and Chill Out' is popular with passengers who can check in for their flight when checking out of their hotel.
Among Virgin’s other suggestions about how to get maximum enjoyment out of your summer holiday is to book a relaxing spa treatment. Passengers travelling in Upper Class can book beauty treatments and hair styling in advance at the Cowshed Spa and Bumble salon at Heathrow airport and the Virgin Touch Spa at Gatwick airport.
Other top tips for a stress free summer holiday include upgrading at the airport, pre-ordering from duty free, and making the most of your time onboard by planning your in flight entertainment and even setting up your own playlist.
