Silversea Cruises has revealed plans to offer free flights to British travellers in an effort to kick-start bookings.

The free air programme provides economy flights to and from the UK on 28 voyages in and around Europe and the Mediterranean throughout the course of the summer. The package will also include complimentary transfers from the airport to the port on the day of arrival/departure.

"We've created these new programmes to make it as attractive as possible for guests, who may have been holding back, to move ahead with their travel plans for 2009," said Trudy Redfern, managing director for the UK and Ireland.

For those with a bigger budget, Business Class upgrades are available from just £199 for European voyages, and from £1,999 for Alaskan and Caribbean cruises - representing savings of in excess of 50%.

Silversea Cruises offers a range of unforgettable cruise opportunities, providing travellers with the opportunity to explore remote ports-of-call and more popular destinations.
