London City Airport receives award

London City Airport recently received the Dedication to Staff Development and Training award at the prestigious Docklands Business Club Awards.

Richard Gooding OBE, chief executive of London City Airport, said on receiving the award: "The Dedication to Staff Development and Training award acknowledges London City Airport's commitment to its staff through significant investment in developmental training.

"We have long been champions of promoting career advancement for local people, encouraging personal development, and investing in training programmes that enable our staff to enjoy good long term careers at the airport.

"This award is a tribute to our Community Relations team, headed by Elizabeth Hegarty, who have successfully devised and implemented these personal development programmes."

London City Airport employs over 2,000 members of staff and has invested more than £165,000 for employee personal development.
