To be named among the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work For is an accolade that Holiday Extras has been fortunate enough to receive on three separate occasions. But its reputation as a leading employer has received further recognition after being named Employer of the Year at the inaugural Kent Excellence in Business Awards.

The UK market leader in travel add-ons, Holiday Extras has already scooped a number of illustrious awards over the past few years.

Steve Lawrence, CEO of the Kent-based company, said: "To have been named the winner of the Employer of the Year is a great honour for everyone at Holiday Extras. Kent is continuing to expand as a base for bigger and bigger companies, so even to be nominated alongside such a great selection says much about what we are trying to achieve at Holiday Extras."

Taking place at Leeds Castle on July 2, the Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA) had been arranged jointly by Kent County Council and the KM Group.

Kevin Lynes, Kent County Council Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Supporting Independence, said: "KEiBA is set to become the key business event of the year in Kent and these awards were an important opportunity for businesses to celebrate their success and network - especially during these difficult economic times.

"It was fantastic to see almost 500 people at the awards last night and we're already looking forward to supporting more businesses with these awards next year."

Geraldine Allinson, chairman of KM Group said: "These awards are a great way to recognise our county's business success and to celebrate their excellence. This first year has shown the immensely high standard of businesses and individuals in Kent, and we hope that KEiBA will help encourage and attract even more business talent to our county."
