North America's largest annual exposition the State Fair of Texas begins this month and visitors will once again be greeted by Big Tex, the 52-foot cowboy who has become the symbol of the event.
The fair has been a Texas tradition since it began in 1886, when 100,000 people turned up.
Some 3.5 million visitors now regularly travel to Fair Park in Dallas to enjoy the festival, generating $350m (£172.7m) in revenue for the city every year.
One of the major draws of the fair is its traditional hosting of the Texas-Oklahoma football game, along with its live music stage, classic car and bike exhibitions and agricultural shows.
Over the years revellers have enjoyed appearances by Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley and a gig by Elvis Presley.
The fair kicks off on September 28th and takes place every day until October 21st.
