With the UK currently bracing itself for another spell of wet and windy 'summer' weather, an Australian tourist website has taken the opportunity to highlight some exciting events going on Down Under in the coming months.
Website austrlia.com writes: "When it's springtime in Oz there are a number of fun, unusual, quirky, cultural and interesting events happening.
"From Lizard Races to Scarecrow Competitions; and from CheeseFests to Flora Festivals, there is a lot going on from September to November."
Some other major events taking place in Australia in the coming months include the Australian Safari and the Red Bull Air Race.
The Australian Safari has been descried as the Dakar of the southern hemisphere and sees cars, motor bikes and quads racing across 500km of dusty outback terrain.
This year's event is due to take place between August 24th and September 1st in Western Australia.
In contrast, the Red Bull Air Race gives tourists the chance to see some of the world's most gifted pilots compete in a race based on speed, precision and skill around the sky above Perth. This even takes place on November 4th.
British Airways currently flies from London Heathrow to Sydney with a stop in either Singapore or Bangkok.
