British travellers looking for some Caribbean sun this year may want to follow Amy Winehouse to the idyllic island of St Lucia.

Popular with celebrities from around the world, St Lucia is one of the Windward Islands located in the Eastern Caribbean. It's a winning combination of beaches, mountains, volcanoes, low lands, forests and sulphur springs.

A tropical climate provides high temperatures and a rainy season - between June and November - and there's something to entertain visitors all year round. St Lucia's Festival of Lights will take place on December 12 and the island hosts international cricket throughout the year.
