Business airline Eos woos investor
[21st April 2008]
Business class only Eos Airlines which flies from Stansted airport to New York JFK says it expects to secure an extra $50 million investment next month.
The extra capital is said to be coming from an existing investor. Our success in the face of this extremely challenging economic and credit environment shows that investors continue to be enthusiastic about our business model, enthuses Eos president and CEO, Jack Williams.
Weve achieved an extremely high level of satisfaction among our guests, many of whom have personally embraced the company and become our de facto ambassadors. We have the most efficient business model, our flight loads have increased and our revenues have risen consistently, Williams adds. Eos hopes the extra financing will enable the airline to become profitable in 2009.
Eos currently operates up to 44 flights a week between Stansted airport and New York JFK using a fleet of Boeing 757s with just 48 suites housing a 66 flat bed. The airline was named Best long haul business airline at the 2007 Business Travel World Awards.
On 5 May Eos will launch new flights from Stansted airport to New York Newark airport. Our corporate and leisure travellers based in New Jersey have told us they are eagerly anticipating our route between Newark and London Stansted, says Williams.
Then on 6 July Eos will start new daily flights from Stansted to Dubai International airport. Our community includes many Guests and investors from the Gulf region who feel that Dubai and Eos are a perfect fit. UAE consumers appreciate products and services of the highest quality and weve created a travel experience that authentically reflects their lifestyle, an extension of the way they want to live while flying, comments Williams.
Rival business class airline Silverjet already offers flights from Luton airport to Dubai and New York Newark.
