New easyJet routes to Krakow, Vienna

Low-fares airline easyJet has launched new services to the European cities of Krakow and Vienna.

EasyJet has launched new services to Krakow in Poland and Vienna in Austria this week and marked the occasions with a variety of PR exercises.

The launch of flights to Krakow from Bournemouth was celebrated by traditional Polish dancers, who entertained passersby in the town centre while slices of Kopernik cake were handed out.

EasyJet services from Bournemouth to Krakow will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with almost 36,000 passengers expected on the route in the first 12 months.

David Osborne, easyJet UK general manager, said: "This new route from Bournemouth to Krakow is great news for the region's travellers who can now take off to Poland from their local airport."

At London Luton airport this week the commencement of easyJet flights to Vienna was marked with Austrian music being played into the departure lounge, some of which was performed live by senior first officer Alex Rowe on a baby grand piano.

The low-cost carrier will fly to the Austrian capital on a daily basis and forecasts almost 100,000 passengers in the first year of operations.
