More Iceland flights from Stansted

Iceland Express has announced that it will launch new flights between London Stansted and Keflavik next year.

Low-fares airline Iceland Express has announced that it will operate more flights between London Stansted and Keflavik next year.

From February 26th the carrier will offer 11 flights a week between London and the Icelandic destination.

Mattias Imsland, chief executive of Iceland Express, said: "This is a part of offering better service on the route between London Stansted and Iceland, which is an increasingly exciting and popular destination for UK travellers.

"A big factor is the constant increase in business passengers between the two…cities and by adding frequency we're hoping to attract even more of the business flyers who have traditionally used Heathrow."

Iceland Express has been operating since February 2003, at which time it offered only two services - Stansted to Reykjavik and Copenhagen to Keflavik.

This network has expanded to the point where the airline now flies to 15 destinations across Europe from its base in Iceland.
