Flybe unveils summer schedule

Regional airline Flybe has announced its schedule for summer 2008, with 23 new routes included in its network.

Flybe has launched its schedule for summer 2008, with over seven million seats on sale and 23 new routes available across the UK and Europe.

The carrier, which claims to be Europe's largest regional airline, will be offering nine additional routes from Cardiff, Inverness and the Isle of Man, which it described as a "major investment" in these destinations.

England's south-west will also see development, with new services from Newquay to Barcelona, Birmingham and Glasgow among others and flights from Exeter to Dubrovnik, Brussels, Inverness and Aberdeen.

Flybe operates four Scottish bases - in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen - and these will be boosted by 12 new routes.

Chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: "The all new summer schedule for 2008 sees Flybe continuing to grow across the UK and Europe with a large number of new routes on sale.

"The latest routes show us cementing our position as Europe's largest regional carrier in key areas, building Flybe into a bigger and stronger airline with a long-term commitment to offering sustainable, reliable and convenient travel to our passengers."
