Flybe offers flights to Germany

Flybe has been named as the fastest growing low cost airline flying to and from Germany.

Budget airline Flybe now offers 128 flights a week to Germany, compared to just 26 flights in 2006/7, an increase of 392%. The statistics are published in the latest ‘Low Cost Monitor’ survey from the German Centre for Aero- and Spacetravel, which tracks the development of low fares airlines operating to and from Germany.

“We’re absolutely delighted to be significantly ahead of our competitors in terms of growth in Germany. This can be attributed to our tried and trusted regional business model which serves many of Germany’s key airports,” comments Flybe chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter.

Flybe calls itself Europe’s largest regional low cost airline and operates flights to five main airports in Germany from the UK. Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Hannover are served by flights from Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton airports. Flybe also flies from Birmingham airport to the German cities of Hamburg and Stuttgart.

“We are always looking at ways to grow the Flybe brand, offering our passengers even more routes to business and leisure destinations across the UK and Europe. We are heartened by the fact that our efforts in Germany have not gone unrecognised,” says Rutter.

“We look forward to continuing to serve the German market over the coming months and to further demonstrating our commitment to the region, providing travellers with an affordable, efficient and customer-focused travel experience,” Rutter adds.
