At the moment, the airline flies between London and Edmonton three times a week. However, this winter the frequency on the route will be increased to create a daily service between the two airports.
"Air Canada is the first airline to offer year-round, daily international scheduled flights from Edmonton with its non-stop flights to London Heathrow, reflecting global travel demand to and from the robust energy region of northern Alberta," commented Daniel Shurz, the vice president of network planning at the airline.
Edmonton hosts a number of internationally renowned festivals every year. These include the Works Art & Design Festival, the Edmonton International Street Performer's Festival and the Edmonton International Fringe Festival.
The city is located within driving distance of some of the best skiing in the Canadian Rockies. In fact, the resorts of Sunshine Village and Mount Norquay are only a few hours drive from Edmonton.
