Air France is to extend its CityJet for Air France network with new flights from London City Airport to Edinburgh and Dundee.

In partnership with ScotAirways, CityJet for Air France will begin flying from the east London hub to the Scottish cities on September 3rd.

The Edinburgh route will operate seven times a day and there will be four daily flights to Dundee.

Passengers from Scotland will now be able to join the Air France/KLM loyalty programme and easily make onward connections to destinations such as Paris, Geneva, Zurich, Nice and Madrid.

"CityJet for Air France is now offering an even better schedule, a top class frequent-flyer programme, and great onward connection opportunities on these important routes, and we're confident our service will be popular," explained Christine Ourmieres, general manager of Air France UK and Ireland.

Geoffrey O'Byrne White, chief executive of CityJet, added: "We're very happy to be expanding our CityJet for Air France network.

"As an Irish airline we feel a natural affinity with Scotland, and we already connect Edinburgh with Paris, so we are delighted to be adding to our Scottish network."

Recently London City Airport applied to be allowed to expand to cope with future growth.
