Leeds Bradford airport flights for Mecca pilgrims

For the first time pilgrims heading to Mecca will be able to fly direct from Leeds Bradford airport.
Sky Fly Connections is operating three special flights from Leeds Bradford to Jeddah and Madinah. Flights to Jeddah will depart on November 22nd and 26th, and a flight to Madinah on November 25th.
The Hajj annual pilgrimage to Mecca is the largest annual pilgrimage in the world. Every able-bodied Muslim is expected to make the pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime. This year this important religious event is taking place from December 6th to 9th.
“For the first time ever, local people have arranged for the local Hajjis (pilgrims) to be able to take a journey of a lifetime from their local airport,” says Sky Fly Connections’ Shahid Bhatti.

The flights from Leeds Bradford airport for the annual pilgrimage to Mecca will be operated by Air Mediterranee and will all go via Athens.
Earlier this month the first direct flights from Leeds Bradford airport to New York took off. The three night four day shopping trips to the Big Apple are being operated by Jet2holidays and sister airline jet2.com.
The first flight on November 6th was a sell out. Further flights from Leeds Bradford airport to New York Newark airport will depart on December 4th and 11th.
