Etihad Heathrow

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has added a third daily flight to its Abu Dhabi service after winning prized new landing slots at Heathrow.

The additional flights will start in October, bringing the weekly total to 21. According to the airline, demand for flights between the UK and the UAE has increased significantly over the last year.

Etihad Airways executive vice president sales and services, Geert Boven commented:

“By adding these new flights to our growing route network we are able to offer a simpler, more convenient travel experience for the flying public.”

Demand for Etihad's Heathrow and Manchester service is coming from both tourists and business travellers. In addition to being a regular stopover point, Abu Dhabi is becoming a popular travel destination in its own right.
