Yellow weather warnings this week

The UK Met Office has issued weather warnings for wind this week from Mon Jan 27 to Tues Jan 28, covering Wales, the south of England and the east of England and Yorkshire on Monday. Minor travel disruptions are possible and 26 short-haul flights at Heathrow have been cancelled.

The following Met Office warnings are in place:

Monday 27

  • Wind (Yellow Warning): Potential minor disruptions for Wales, the Midlands, the south and east of England and Yorkshire, including the London and Midlands airports, Cardiff, Bristol, Southampton and Leeds Bradford.

Tuesday 28

  • Wind (Yellow Warning): Potential minor disruptions for Wales, the Midlands, the south and east of England, including the London and Midlands airports, Cardiff, Bristol and Southampton.

As always, we encourage customers who are due to travel during the weather warning to contact their airline or tour operator to double-check the situation before setting off to the airport. It may also be advisable to leave extra time for your journey to or from the airport as there is the potential for road and rail disruptions.

Customers in need of alternative travel options

You can avoid travel disruptions on the morning of your flight by staying at an airport hotel the night before. We have rooms available at all major UK airports.

Customers Due to Travel

Customers with Flextras: Free cancellations bookings can cancel any time up to the booked day and time of travel if required. You'll be issued with a flexible voucher that you can use to rebook once you have your new flight details

Flextras: Saver customers can cancel for a voucher that you can use to book the same product again once your new flights are confirmed.

Customers with bookings that include a Manchester, Stansted or East Midlands on-airport parking product (including hotel and parking) can cancel up to three days before their day of travel. We are unable to issue any refund for bookings for those products cancelled later than that.

We encourage you to use our online amends system to change dates, times, terminals, parking options, as well as cancelling your booking if necessary.
