Sports and activities in Thailand

With the abundance of tours and excursions available in this backpacker's paradise, this guide will help guide you through some of the more enjoyable activities available.

Water Sports: Thailand is an amazing place for water sports and hosts a variety of water-based activities such as water-skiing, scuba diving and wakeboarding throughout the year. Watersports can give you a chance to experience a thrilling and unusual activity as well as experience nature first hand, coming into contact with sharks and other underwater wildlife. Although our policies come with cover for certain water sports as standard, if you're taking part in any higher risk activities, then you may need to take out one of our three extra activity packs which can be added to your policy when making a quote.

Martial Arts: Thailand is famed for its martial arts schemes such as Muy Thai. Visiting the country is a great opportunity to practise the sports, with an extensive array of martial arts schools and gyms across Thailand.

Top Thailand Excursions

Jungle Safari: The Khao Yai and Mae Wang regions of Thailand are bursting with verdant jungles and bio-diverse wildlife. Jungle excursions are also popular with tourists and allow you to experience the jungle first hand, with a guided tour to help you get the most from your experience.

River Cruises: River cruises and boat excursions, especially around the Phi Phi islands are popular as they provide you with beautiful and tranquil views from the water that you would not be able to reach from the mainland.

Other fun things to do in Thailand

Other fun things to do in Thailand include biking around Bangkok, which can open up secret places that are typically hidden by the busy streets. If you love golf, Thailand has lots of beautiful courses and are very reasonably priced.

If you like to relax on holiday, visiting a spa is definitely recommended. There are plenty of massage parlours, which are famously well priced and are the perfect antidote to the bustle of Bangkok's streets.
