1. Royal Albert Dock and waterfront
If you aren't sure where to begin on your tour of Liverpool, then the Waterfront is a good place to start. Here you'll find numerous galleries, museums, exhibitions, bars and restaurants and get a sense of the city's heritage as a maritime metropolis of the 19th and 20th centuries.

2. Cavern club
The Cavern Club is an underground bar and music venue on Matthew street, The Cavern club is famous for being the place where the Beatles used to play before their big break. The club now houses 1960's memorabilia as well as live acts in the evenings and during the day. This spot should be top on the list for fans of the 60's super group, as the place where it all started. The band are said to have played almost 300 times at this venue before making it big.

3. The Beatles Story
Located on the historic Albert Dock, the Beatles museum is another must visit for fans of beatlemania with many interactive exhibits documenting the bands history. Grab some morning coffee at the Fab 4 Cafe, a Beatles themed cafe nearby.
4. The British music experience
Maybe you're a music lover but aren't a massive fan of the Beatles, in which case The British Music Experience may be worth a visit. Here you'll find the history of British music documented with various interactive exhibits, including costumes, instruments and other memorabilia.
5. Baltic Triangle
The hipster hub of the city, the Baltic triangle was once Liverpool's main industrial district. Now you'll find it's filled with quirky vintage shops, bars, music venues and other creative and independent businesses.
6. Grand Bazaar
Taking it's aesthetic inspiration from the art of Gaudi, the Grand Bazaar is an eclectic mix of bars and food markets serving cuisine from all over the world, with locally sourced produce.
7. Liverpool Chinatown
One of the first China towns to open in Europe, Liverpool China town is home to many reputable restaurants and take-aways as well as Chinese supermarkets. Stroll through the streets and experience Liverpool's multi-cultural history first hand.

8. Try some local Scouse!
Contrary to popular belief this doesn't actually refer to the famous local dialect! Scouse is in fact the popular dish that is a staple amongst liverpudlians during the winter months. A stew made from beef and chunky veg, usually served with pickled beetroot and crusty bread, scouse is a must-try when visiting Liverpool!
9. Superlambbanana statue
Standing at 17 feet tall, the Superlambbanana statue is (as it's name suggests) a sculpture meant to be a cross between a lamb and a banana. Designed by the japanese artist Taro Chiezo, the Superlambbanna is intended to act as a distinctive warning on the dangers of genetic engineering. You can find the statue on Tithebarn street.
10. Sefton Park
Retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city for a quiet stroll among trees and greenery. There's also much to explore in Sefton park, with a beautiful 19th century victorian style greenhouse home to many exotic plant life.
