Coronavirus Tenerife and Travel Insurance

On 24th February 2020, following a coronavirus outbreak in Italy, Spain confirmed its first cases originating from Tenerife. As of 4th March 2020, there have been 151 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

What is coronavirus?

Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 is a new strain of coronavirus first identified in Wuhan City, China. Symptoms include a high temperature, cough, and shortness of breath. Protecting yourself from coronavirus

Though there is currently no cure for coronavirus, here are a few safety measures to help protect yourself.

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water
  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitiser, especially after using public transport.
  • Cover your hand and mouth with a tissue while coughing and sneezing, and dispose of the used tissue immediately.
  • Try to avoid contact with people who are, or have recently been unwell.
  • If you feel unwell, stay at home.
  • If you have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing, seek medical immediate medical care and follow any advice given by your healthcare provider.
  • Stay informed on the development of COVID-19 via the aforementioned official websites.
