Coronavirus Taiwan and Travel Insurance
Although less affected by the coronavirus outbreak than neighbouring regions, Taiwan has 42 confirmed cases as of 9th March 2020. In response to this, local authorities have implemented measures to help contain the spread.
Additional screening processes are in place at entry points, including airports. The following measures are also being taken;
- Everyone arriving in Taiwan is required to fill in a declaration stating their travel history in the last 14 days.
- Foreign nationals (including British nationals) who have visited China, Macau or Hong Kong in the past 14 days will not be permitted entry into Taiwan.
- Foreign nationals arriving in Taiwan from South Korea and Italy will be required quarantine themselves for 14 days.
- Anyone transiting through Taiwan or making an airside transfer in China, Hong Kong or Macau will be allowed to enter Taiwan but will be required to undertake home quarantine for 14 days.
Stay up-to-date on government advice for visiting Taiwan, on the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) website.
