Icelandair has announced plans to increase the number of flights from Glasgow and Manchester airports from September 2009.

The airline, one of Iceland's longest established companies, will increase the number of flights to Iceland and North American destinations. Two additional flights will be added to the Glasgow and Manchester schedule, making it four flights weekly.

Hjövar Saeberg Högnason, general manager for UK and Ireland, said: "We are pleased to expand our service from Glasgow and Manchester to Iceland and our North American destinations. This will provide our passengers with increased convenience and flexibility to travel to Iceland to take advantage of the favourable exchange rate, plus increase the options for connecting onwards to fantastic destinations like New York City, Boston, Seattle and more."
