T4 baggage update

British Airways and BAA today confirmed that problems with the baggage system at Heathrow Terminal 4 have been resolved.

All passengers flying from T4 can travel with their normal hand and hold baggage. However, transfer passengers passing through the terminal will not be able to check in luggage and should contact their airline.

Yesterday a BAA spokesperson apologised for the disruption, "...British Airways passengers travelling to long haul destinations from Terminal 4 today have had their travel plans seriously impacted upon. BAA would like to sincerely apologise to these British Airways passengers who have had their travel plans disrupted..."

Travellers are still advised to check on baa.com or ba.com for the latest information before leaving home.

British Airways passengers face further disruption in the coming months. Pilots are preparing to strike over fears that BA's new transatlantic subsidiary, OpenSkies, will adversely affect working conditions.
