The excess is a sum of money that you pay in the event of a claim, and it’s typically deducted from any payout the insurance company would make to you.

The excess is per person, per section, per claim and varies depending on which policy you choose – if you purchase a Platinum policy there is no excess!

When you complete a search the excess of each policy will be clearly displayed at the top of the grid which details the breakdown of cover. It can also be found in the policy wording.
