Chief Data Officer
Andrew joined Holiday Extras in June 2016 as Chief Data Officer.
Andrew's mission is to drive a data led environment in the Holiday Extras Group, helping the company to move from a commodity business to one that builds loyalty and relationships along with a profitable and long lasting business model.
Life before Holiday Extras
Andrew studied Modern Languages at Durham and Alcala de Henares (near Madrid!) before a qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in London. Three years of travelling the world with Sony Music followed, until he settled back in London to work for Richard Branson's second record label V2 Music.
After helping to sell V2 Music to Universal Music, Andrew discovered the world of online technology at the private equity backed European Directories, where he worked as VP of Online Business Development, and then moved on to become CFO of a startup called Badoo - which he helped build into one of the largest technology companies by profit in Europe.
Over the last three years, Andrew moved into a non-exec role at Badoo and became involved in numerous interim projects and Board advisory roles; from setting up a property services company in East Africa to various early-stage technology companies to running a small music publishing company.
Life aside from work
Andrew loves the outdoor life - a former keen rugby player turned (wannabe) fell runner, happy gardener and anything that involves being out in the outdoors with his family. Andrew describes his musical ability (especially the piano) as enthusiastic. He is married with three lively children.
What's your perfect hassle-free holiday?
Anything that makes the travel there and back easier. Airport lounges are an especial love of mine, as well as finding airports that can provide enough bar and restaurant space even at busy times.
Any trip via Manchester airport is usually a happy one.
Anybody that has truly found a way to be successful by focusing on people.
