London's Longest Running Play
The Mousetrap ranks as Agatha Christie's most successful play owing to its longevity in the West End. It was originally written as a short radio play for Queen Mary with the title Three Blind Mice. Poirot
33 novels detailed the exploits of Poirot including'The Mysterious Affair at Styles', 'Murder on the Links', 'Poirot Investigates', 'The Murder of Roger Ackroyd' and 'Murder on the Orient Express'. Poirot's final installment was called 'Curtain' in 1975. He became the only fictional character ever to be honoured with an obituary on the front page of
the New York Times.
