High Society - The Shaftesbury Theatre

The swinging style of music in high society can also be found in the brilliant The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas.

After a sell-out run at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park and a successful UK tour, Ian Talbot directs the West End production of Cole Porter’s musical High Society.

Produced at the Shaftesbury Theatre by Mark Goucher Productions, set and costume designs are by Paul Farnsworth, musical direction is by James Dunsmore, choreography is by Gillian Gregory and lighting design by Jason Taylor.

High Society - The Story

Tracy Lord is about to get married – again, to a successful but stuffy businessman. Wealthy Tracy - dressed from head to toe in enviable finery is also being pursued by other contenders. Based on the 1940 film The Philadelphia Story, High Society is a comedy about the upper classes in the American post-war era. Tracy's first husband, playboy Dexter Haven, attempts to woo back his wife. Tabloid reporter Mike Konner, also falls for Tracy while covering her wedding for his magazine. Tracy must choose between the three men...

High Society - At The London Shaftesbury Theatre

Cole Porter wrote “You’re the tops,”High Society certainly proves to be a top classic in this new musical production now showing in London's West End at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

Now, with a cast elegantly dressed in fifties styled costumes and hats, director Ian Talbot gives the production a modern turn with slick, sophisticated staging.
