Biography of Claire Sweeney:

Claire Sweeney is one of the UK's best loved television personalities and star of musical Guys and Dolls.

Claire Sweeney was born and raised in Walton, Liverpool. She trained at the Liverpool's top stage school - the Elliott Clarke Drama School until the age of 11. When Claire was 18 she won a sought-after place at the famous Italia Conti Stage School in London. When Claire finished school she was determined to become a singer. She worked as an entertainer on cruise hips for 4 years as well as performing in shows and pantomimes. Her big break was her role as Lindsey Corkhill on Channel 4's Brookside.

After leaving Brookside, Claire has appeared in Celebrity Big Brother and won the BBC show, 'Strictly Come Dancing.' After Claire's success in 'Strictly Come Dancing' she took the lead role of Roxie Hart in the hit West-End musical Chicago.

As well as television and performances in the West-End, Claire has also presented popular television shows, such as 'Challenge of a Lifetime' and '60 Minute Makeover.' Claire Sweeney really sparkles as Miss Adelaide in her current role in the classic Broadway musical Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre, London.
