Fame will be playing at the Shafesbury Theatre, London, from 4th May to 1st September 2007.
Fame the Musical was inspired by the Academy Award winning film and the successful TV series of the same name. The unforgettable music and songs continually entertain and lift the spirits, adding to Fame's feel good factor.
The Music and Lyrics from Fame
Lyrics from Fame: Jacques Levy
Orchestration: Harold Wheeler and Steve Margoshes
A new score for the theatre production of Fame was composed by Steve Margoshes with lyrics by Jacques Levy. The only original song to be kept from the 1980 film and television series is the iconic theme tune 'Fame (I'm Gonna live Forever)'.
The predominant style of the music in Fame is pop with clear influences from gospel, jazz and soul. The thumping score ranges from big upbeat chorus numbers to sweet gentle harmonies.
Fame Soundtrack
Fame's electrifying songs are headed by the legendary title track 'Fame' which
remains an 80s classic.
Other songs from the musical include, 'Pray I Make P.A.', 'Hard Work', 'I Want to Make Magic', 'There She Goes', 'Let's Play a Love Scene', 'Mabel's Prayer', 'Think of Meryl Streep', 'Dancin' on the Sidewalk', 'These Are My Children', 'In L.A.' and 'Bring on Tomorrow'. '
