The new musical set to the music of West Indian group of the 70's, Boney M. In the middle of multicultural London, rivalry between the East and West is set to destroy the relationship of Sunny and Rose, both from different sides of the capital. Daddy Cool delves in to family life as secrets are revealed and Sunny and Rose and their families are forced to face the future.

The Building Design of the Shaftesbury Theatre

The Shaftesbury theatre is on the statutory list of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic interest. After the callopse of the auditorium ceiling during a performance of Hair the theatre was almost forced to shut until the public rallied together and saved the building. The theatre was totally redesigned and has recently been renovated.

The building is recognisable for the tower on top of the building and its shape - as it encompasses the corner of Shaftesbury Avenue.

The History of the Shaftesbury Theatre

The Shaftesbury theatre was the first theatre to open on Shaftesbury Avenue, and was first known as the Prince's theatre. The name changed to the Shaftesbury in 1962 when the theatre was purchased by EMI and redesigned.

The first performances of Hair were shown in the Shaftesbury, and it was during one of these performances of the controversial show that the ceiling partly callopsed halting the run of the production.

The theatre has been home to many famous productions including the world famous West Side Story. Currently the theatre is home to the West End production of High Society.
