Kerry Ellis was born and raised in Suffolk with her family. Kerry trained as a singer and actress at the Laine Theatre Arts School. During and after her time at Laine Theatre Arts School, Kerry Ellis was cast for many roles.

Stage Career

Kerry Ellis has acted in a number of London musicals and national theatre tours. Kerry Ellis has played lead roles in accalimed West End musicals such as 'My Fair Lady' and Les Miserables. Kerry played the role of Ellen in the national tour of 'Miss Saigon' and the part of Mary in 'Merrily We Roll Along.'

At present, Kerry Ellis is best known for creating and playing the role of the rock chick character, Meat, in We Will Rock You. Kerry was a member of the original London cast of the Queen/Ben Elton London musical. She stayed with the popular show for two years. Many audience members and critics claimed that her solo, 'No One But You,' was the highlight of We Will Rock You, the show.

Kerry Ellis has been part of the original London cast of Wicked since the West End premiere in Autumn, 2006. Kerry had been the standby for Idina Menzel as 'Elphaba.' As standby, Kerry had already played the part on a number of occasions when Idina had been unable to perform.

Recent Projects

Kerry Ellis is currently starring as 'Elphaba' in the hit West End show, Wicked. This magical, new West End musical tells the previously untold tale of the witches of Oz and their unlikely friendship. Kerry Ellis plays the Wicked Witch of the West, 'Elphaba' at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London from January 2007.
