Biography

Born in Barnet, Hertfordshire on the 5th March 1948, Elaine Paige is an established star of musical theatre. Her career as an actress, recording artist and theatrical performer began with her first professional performance in 'The Roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd'.

Her breakthrough in the West-End came when she was cast as Eva Peron in the original production of 'Evita', in what became a multi award-winning performance.

Ms Paige went on to record many solo albums, perform in a variety of productions on Broadway as well as London's West-End, and star in a host of television shows.

Awards and Achievements

1994 - Awarded the Gold Badge of Merit by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors
1995 - Presented with the Order of the British Empire for her services to musical theatre
1996 - Won the HMV Lifetime Achievement Award.
1999 - Added the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association to her collection of honours.
