Biography of Danny Brocklehurst

Danny Brocklehurst is a successful British screenwriter. Brocklehurst was born in 1971 and has worked for high profile publications such as the Guardian, Manchester Evening News, City Life and The Big Issue. He has also worked for major TV channels, ITV, Channel 4 and the BBC.

Danny Brocklehurst has written a number of successful TV dramas including the acclaimed Shameless which won a coveted BAFTA award for the first series. Brocklehurst became lead writer for this popular channel 4 show by the third series but left prior to the fourth series.

Brocklehurst also wrote the BAFTA award winning drama, Clocking Off and the critically acclaimed The Stretford Wives. Other work has included the comedy-drama series Linda Green, BBC's Sorted and a film about the Fathers 4 Justice campaign.

Danny Brocklehurst's most recent TV writing was the four part ITV drama, Talk to Me which starred Max Beesley and Laura Fraser. Danny is currently writing a nuclear war drama for the 'Decades' season on the BBC. He is also writing a film, My Son Claire which follows a mother as she comes to terms with her son's decision to change genders.

Adding another credit to his already impressive writing career, Danny Brocklehurst has just written the script for Never Forget, a new musical featuring the music of Take That. The musical follows a Take That tribute band through their highs and lows and features a number of the boy band's best loved hits.
